Yoga Break in
20th - 25th May 2020
Release the tension in both body and mind and relax in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains of southern Spain
Anne Marie Rumbol
Our days will begin with a full and balanced vinyasa flow yoga practice. These longer sessions will allow us to warm up and fully stretch the body before moving on to challenge and explore the body further. Options will be offered for all levels, and our morning practice will close with a full savasana to allow your body and mind to fully absorb the benefits of your practice. Each day’s practice will be different, but will build on the previous day's, so you can feel your body benefitting from this deeper yoga practice.
Morning practice will be followed by a full brunch to refuel ourselves.
You will then be free either to explore the surrounding area, go on a planned excursion, or simply relax around the pool.
We will regroup early evening for our second yoga practice of the day. This will be a shorter practice of around 45 minutes to an hour and each day will be different, using various techniques - self-myofascial release, guided meditation, yoga Nidra, restorative yoga, deep yin stretches, sound meditation. The aim of all of these techniques being to release tension in both body and mind and to wind down at the end of the day. Many of the techniques you will be able to take off your mat and into your world when you return home.
Evening practice will be followed by a 3-course evening meal.

Anne Marie has enjoyed yoga for over 25 years, and has been teaching for 9 years.
She believes in making yoga fun and accessible for all bodies, and this is shown in her ability to successfully teach across a broad spectrum from reluctant beginners to experienced yogis, from stiff bodies to super flexible ones. She is at home teaching in top yoga studios, health clinics, village halls, yurts, corporate meeting spaces and private homes in London, Oxford, and many places in between.
Her working life began outside of yoga in the corporate sector in London, which she did for 20 years. An unmissable opportunity to travel with her young family resulted in Anne Marie leaving the corporate world and, on returning from those travels, studying with the renowned London yoga teacher Claire Missingham. After graduating from Claire’s prestigious 200-hour teaching program, Anne Marie went on to become, first a mentor and then an assessor for subsequent trainees. She has also been involved in the Spiralling Crow teacher training in Oxford.
Her initial yoga training has sparked a life-long love of learning and Anne Marie continues to deepen her knowledge and stay informed about latest research, travelling across the globe to study with the world’s very best teachers at least 3 times a year. She studies frequently with Tiffany Cruikshank and Jason Crandell, and has also studied with Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Judith Hanson Lasater, Elena Brower, Kathryn Budig, David Swenson, and many other highly regarded international yoga teachers.
This has resulted in Anne Marie achieving the experienced 500 hour yoga teaching qualification and then, 2 years ago being awarded the 'Yoga Medicine Registered Therapeutic Specialist' standard - one of a small handful of yoga teachers in the UK who have reached this level, allowing her to use yoga therapeutically alongside both conventional and alternative medical approaches to support patients holistically to aid recovery. She is fully qualified to teach a variety of yoga styles including vinyasa flow, restorative, yin, myofascial release, pregnancy and postnatal, mindfulness and meditation and incorporates elements of these into her classes to give a fresh and diverse results-focused approach.
Anne Marie teaches with a strong anatomical background, and a deep awareness of health and wellbeing, as well as lightness, humour and fun. She wants everyone to leave her classes feeling better than when they arrived and ready to embrace all that life has to throw at us. She strives to make yoga relevant and accessible to all, offering lots of tips to take off the mat and into everyday life.
